Fast Track Novice Series

Designed for people who have never danced tango, but have always wanted to, this three day intensive seminar will take you on a tango superhighway, from zero to dancing comfortably in 9 rigorous hours with the best instructors with whom to begin your tango adventure. Popular demand has motivated us to develop this novice level that will provide you with the necessary knowledge, musicality and technical skills to be able to start enjoying this romantic and fabulous social dance. You do not need any previous experience, and partners are not necessary, because the instructor will rotate students during the sessions.

Our unique Fast Track Novice Series will get you dancing in just 6 rigorous workshops.

Taught by American Tango Institute and Old Town School instructor, Netza Roldan. Specifically for people who have never danced tango, this series of six intensive dance workshops was designed to have you dancing in three days!

Argentine tango is about interpreting the music as you walk fluidly with a partner. Take your first steps to tango and learn the secrets of this sensuous dance and how to use your body, balance and projection to create your own tango style. Two workshops per day will focus on basics & fundamentals of social tango that all tango dancers need to move with confidence and grace.

Workshops will introduce:

3 Basic Tango Elements: Musicality, balance and direction, connection

  • Perfect tango posture
  • The Embrace -3 points of connection in the open embrace
  • Walking with elegance
  • The Axis – understanding and controlling one’s axis
  • Disassociation of upper and lower body
  • The importance of improvisation in tango
  • Basics movements: count of eight, salida, cross step, rock step, changes of direction, changes of weight
